Day Six: Long day, short post

It’s all starting to mount up!  The incremental sleep deprivation is doing its thing its thing [I did notice this, but after publishing.  I rest my case – ed.] with the two of us, well three of us really; even Doglet has been dog tired!

Day five: Milky La-La Land

We got off to a good start today.  I was raking through the washing basket to get out light colours for a full load along with Marcail’s stuff, when I found them.

Day four: Starting to gurgle

Last night, well the small hours of this morning really, Marcail made her first noise that wasn’t simply a cry. She was in her bed and made a little gurgly baby type noise.  It’s a tiny thing, I know, but it’s another little step forward.  She is getting the hang of feeding, and of demanding

We’re starting to get the hang of this job a little bit and it seems a little less daunting than it did yesterday.  The midwife came to see us this morning, and we’re not in jail and Marcail isn’t in care so we can’t be doing everything wrong.  Although, it turns out we did try

Marcail Erin Begbie; b July 13th 2009 16:08 BST

Today has been simply the best day of our lives.  It is with immense happiness that we can say that Deborah has given birth to a healthy and vital baby girl, Marcail Erin Begbie today at St. John’s Hospital, Livingston.  She weighed in at 3090g, or 6lbs 10oz in old money.
